Location: Travel-based, United States. Job type: Full-time, in person. Pay: $1,000 to $1,800 per week, paid weekly.

VEPO Metering is hiring Utility Meter Technicians for travel-based residential meter upgrade projects throughout the U.S. Work may include indoor meter changeouts in northern regions and outdoor meter replacements or meter box and pit work in southern regions.

Technicians travel to assigned project locations. Company-paid housing is provided during active projects and may include hotel, rental, apartment, or similar accommodations. Paid training, daily routes, and clear expectations are provided.

What you will do

  • Replace residential water meters
  • Complete indoor and outdoor meter work, including pits, boxes, lids, and access points
  • Perform endpoint and radio installation, wiring tie-ins, and leak checks
  • Manage routes and document work orders on a tablet
  • Communicate access, safety, property, or site concerns
  • Follow procedures, requirements, and safety expectations

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to pass background screening where permitted by law
  • Willingness to travel, work independently, and manage a route
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors and meet production expectations
  • Time management, customer service, and mobile technology skills

Preferred: meter, construction, utilities, HVAC, electrical, cable, telecom, field service, residential service, lead tech, or supervisor experience.

Compensation: weekly pay by direct deposit. Typical earnings are $1,000 to $1,800 per week. Projects may be piece rate or prevailing wage. Earnings vary by project, production, hours, and location.

Field Operations Supervisor

Lead a crew of meter technicians on active deployment projects. You own daily route planning, production targets, quality control, and the customer relationship on site.

What you will do

  • Schedule and dispatch daily routes, monitor production and rework
  • Coach technicians on installation standards and safety
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for the utility or municipality
  • Report progress, exceptions, and material needs to project management

  • Field crew leadership experience in metering, utilities, or construction
  • Comfort with mobile work order software and daily reporting
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites
