Tester FAQs

How do I get started submitting tests through CrossConnex?
Go to www.vepocc.com or download the mobile app from the App Store or Google Play. Select "Create a Tester Account" and provide the required information.

What is the VCC number and what if my customer does not have one?
The VCC number is the CrossConnex ID assigned to every device. Customers receive their VCC number in a letter from the water utility. If they don't have it, contact the utility or CrossConnex at 1-877-860-8376.

Tester certification and test kit calibration.
Testers must provide the expiration date of their certification in their profile along with a photo of their certification paperwork. Re-certify per your state laws and upload the updated documentation. Test kits also require calibration — enter the expiration date and upload the calibration paperwork.

Why do I have to take a picture of the device during the test?
Water utilities require a photo to verify tester presence and confirm the information entered during the test.

Why is it asking for my payment method if my card is already on file?
The app lets you collect payment from the device owner — it's asking whether you want to charge a credit card at the time of test or record another payment form.

What is Stripe and do I need it?
Stripe is a third-party processor (like PayPal or Square). If you create an account at stripe.com, you can link it to your CrossConnex account to accept credit card payments. Stripe charges approximately 2.7–3% per transaction.
